I'm almost positive that there is a law of science which mentions (paraphrased by me) that nothing gets better, everything is degenerating, breaking down, etc. You know what I'm talking about? They say from the moment a baby is born, it starts to die. Just looking in our own lives we can see health fail, finances straggling, etc. It can be down-right depressing if you start looking at it all from that point of view. Gas prices sky-rocket and so follows the food prices, toiletries...just stuff that we use to live in this world. When you look around at all the disasters brought about by earthquakes, tsunami, and as of late...tornadoes, when you see whole communities vanish and a family's possessions get wiped out it can really wake you up. We take so much for granted.
As a child of God, I am so thankful that everything in life is NOT on the downward cycle. God has provided us with stability! We know for certain that He will NEVER change which offers us a stronghold to hang on to. What a blessed assurance! He's also promised us that His Word would never change. Isn't it amazing how you can read and re-read the Bible and its always new and refreshing each time? God has given us His Word and many promises to hold on to....that is POSITIVE!
When one stops and thinks about it, in this world we have mostly negative. Look at the newspaper and you'll quickly see there's more "bad" things in it than uplifting. Even if you listen to people's conversations, often times there is very little positive worth in it. Shame on us! In times like these we need our Savior. He is our life-line!!! In His Omniscience, he realized that the closer to His coming we get, the more we would need to rely on Him to make it. What hope have we in this world of ours? If I had hope in this life only, I'd just be miserable. BUT GOD!!!! He is a constant. So many people turn their back on God or to drugs, alcohol and things that destroy and only make life worse. God wants to offer something that will give you a total different outlook - it's kind of like - OUT OF THIS WORLD!
So, just a word of encouragement if you feel you're all alone and everything seems to be going wrong....take a close look and evaluate where you are in your relationship with God. If that is in good shape, then just hang on to the PROMISES and use the artillery He's provided you with. If you should find that you're not quite where you really need to be...if you're relationship isn't as close as it needs to be with Him...if there are things you need to take care of - DO IT! Why hold on to things which will pull you down??? Remember the law of science...it DOESN'T need our help. Get your heart right, your eyes on the Master and your thoughts on praising the wonderful Savior we know as our EVERYTHING!
When you look at it in the right perspective...you're whole attitude will change. Realize how blessed you are to be a child of the King! Walk in that realm! Live your life as worship to the Lord! Yes, things in this life degenerate but with God in our lives, we can daily REGENERATE! Jesus is coming soon - hold on, look up and shine like never before. God bless~

Could It Be?
Could it be....? Thomas was the only person ever mentioned who "needed" to see the nail-prints in Jesus' hands. Think about it...Jesus could have been scar-less, but could it be that He allowed the scars to remain JUST FOR THOMAS?! If He'll do something like that for just one person, don't you think He will do the unthinkable for you?

Change Your Focus
Are you trying to gain someones approval? acceptance? love? I wanted to share this thought with you.
Most of us know the story of the "wife swap" with star players being Jacob, Leah and Rachel, right? Laban made Jacob work an extra seven years for Rachel after tricking him and giving him Leah after the first seven years of work.
So, Leah gave birth to three sons...all the while trying to get Jacob to love her like he did Rachel. After each child she would think, "Surely he'll love me now!" It never happened though; Jacob loved Rachel. However, on the third son, I think she finally had a break-through for the Bible says she said, "Now will I praise the Lord." Whoa....big change! She changed her focus and did not bare any more children afterward.
Could it be that through her worship, God bridged the gap and provided the love and acceptance she was looking for?
We all seek the approval of someone at one time or another during our life. We want someone to love us, to take interest in us, to accept us, etc. Maybe instead of looking for man's approval we should focus more on God's approval. I guarantee things will take a change for the better! God's love is unconditional and nobody can love like He can. Think about it. Just saying!!!
One thing more...you have to continue to keep that attitude and not let the "old man" return. This is important to remember.

"Endureth"
The key word for this week seems to be "endureth". In today's society, we are accustomed to having everything "our way" and having it right now. Consider the fast-food drive-thru window and you'll realize what I'm saying. However, life does not offer us one of those windows. When things seem to be going crazy, when everything seems to be falling apart, and when you feel you can't go on...the word you need to hang on to is "endureth."
The Bible tells us many stories of people who had issues in their lives. I think that's a given with any human being. Life continuously throws us curve balls when we're up to bat, making it very hard to hit anything better than a foul ball. Look at Job...he lost everything he had in one day's time. Joseph tried doing everything right, but ended up in a pit, sold into slavery, and in prison. There are many other examples too. Sometimes we do everything "right" and it ends up all wrong. The trick is to endure.
No matter what is going on in your life...whether it be physical, spiritual, financial, or anything in between...you must remember that the ultimate goal is to endure. The Bible tells us if we're going to win, we've got to endure till the end. It doesn't say you have to "like" what's going on or that everything is going to be a bed of roses, you just have to make it through it. Tie a knot in your rope and hang in there. The beautiful thing about it is that God will be with you all the way through. Sometimes we fail to realize that and we tend to think we're all alone in the pit. If you're on God's side, He says He will never leave you alone. What an encouragement that should be to us. Ultimately, God IS in control...its in His hands.
So, keep telling yourself "this too shall pass" and encouraging yourself in the Lord. If He has brought you to it, He will and is more than able to bring you through it. Don't let the enemy tell you that you're going to fall apart because God will hold you together....you're in His hands. Just put on your boots and walk right through the muck of disappointment and let-downs, keep rolling through every soggy valley and discouragement, continue to look to the Lord for your help and know that it won't last always. God knows how much you can bear and He knows exactly how much He's going to let you stretch this time around.
I know the phrase "grin and bear it" isn't what we always want to hear, but that's the gist of what "endureth" manes. Hang in there and know God will bring you through the fire if you'll just hold on, wait on Him and worship your way right through it.
